Hi, I'm about to use my Tyrvaya nasal spray. Watch along to learn how I use it.

Remember, Tyrvaya is not another drop, and it’s not like other nasal sprays. But with a little practice, you’ll learn the Tyrvaya way to spray. Before I show you how to use Tyrvaya, there is some important information you need to know.

One, Tyrvaya is for use in the nose.

Two, do not shake the bottles.

The Tyrvaya carton contains enough medicine for 30 days. Each carton has two glass nasal spray bottles, so each of those has enough medicine for 15 days of treatment. Do not open the second bottle until you've used the entire first bottle.

Now that we’ve got that covered, let’s get started! Before using a new bottle of Tyrvaya, you’ll need to prime it to get the bottle ready to use for the first time. I’ll show you how.

The first step is to remove the cap. Next, grasp the clip and pull it off like this. Don't throw these away. Put them back on the nasal applicator after each use.

Now I’m going to hold Tyrvaya upright and away from my face. Watch as I place my index finger and middle finger on each side of the nasal spray applicator, and place my thumb underneath the bottle. It should look like this.

Now that I’m ready to spray, I’m going to fully press and release the nasal applicator 7 times with my thumb and fingers. You may feel some resistance but be sure to press all the way down. You may not see a spray released each time you press and release the nasal applicator, but you should see a spray released by the 7th time you press and release. Remember to spray away from yourself and others. There it is!

A quick tip for you here is to avoid priming Tyrvaya more than needed as it will reduce the amount of medicine in the nasal spray bottle. This priming step is necessary to make sure the nasal spray bottle releases the right amount of Tyrvaya for the first use and it will not impact the number of doses available in the bottle.

Remember, if you haven't used Tyrvaya for more than five days, then you will need to reprime the nasal spray bottle with one spray before you use it. To reprime, hold the nasal spray bottle upright and away from your face. Fully press and release the nasal spray applicator one time.

Ok—now we’re good to go! Are you ready to learn how to spray the Tyrvaya way? Let’s go over the steps together.

First things first, blow your nose to clear your nostrils if needed.

Next, remember to remove the cap and clip and don't throw them away. They'll be placed back on to the nasal spray applicator after each use. Now, hold Tyrvaya upright, just like this. Place one finger on each side of the base of the nasal spray applicator and place your thumb underneath the bottle.

Now, watch as I tilt my head without lying down. It helped me to use a mirror the first few times that I administered Tyrvaya, so try that if you want to.

Insert the nasal applicator into the left or right nostril. I find it helpful to hold the applicator in my left hand when spraying into my right nostril, and vice versa. Watch as I tilt the nasal applicator and point the tip towards the top of my ear on the same side as my nostril.

Why is the aim important here? Well, there are glands and cells around your eyes that work together to produce tears. These glands and cells are connected to a nerve inside your nose that is part of your body's pathway for controlling tear film production. Tyrvaya, when sprayed into your nose, is believed to activate this pathway to produce more of your own real tears.

Remember to leave space between the tip of the applicator and the wall of your nose so you’re not pressed up against it.

Now that we’re in position, I’m going to place my tongue on the roof of my mouth and breathe gently while fully pressing and releasing the nasal applicator once to spray into my nostril. And remember, don’t inhale the mist.

To complete administration, I’ll repeat these steps in my other nostril by swapping the bottle to my other hand and wiping the nasal applicator with a clean tissue once I’m finished.

After that, I’ll replace the clip and cap. And that’s it!

Repeat these steps each time you use Tyrvaya.

Now you know the Tyrvaya way to spray.
